How to Find a Profitable Niche

What is a Niche?

When you first start affiliate marketing, you will soon learn how to find a profitable niche. But what is a niche? A niche is a specific market segment you have chosen to promote your favourite product or service.

For example, you may believe you have found a niche in the market such as gardening, but it is too broad; so, it needs to be narrowed to a specific area of gardening such as outdoor gardening, indoor gardening, aerogardens, hydroponics, gardening tools and equipment and so on. These segments have their requirements, customers and products.

How to find your niche

When we first start thinking about a niche, some of you tend to struggle because you may have different things that you are interested in or may like to do, so you must choose the right niche for you.

Hi, great information for a website niche! Very well detail. I already have a niche website and I want to look for a sub-niche. Is this information are good also for a sub-niche?
Thank you for sharing, great post!

    • Yvonne Bray

Hi Lyne, my advice is to have one niche per site. A sub-niche is okay so long as it relates to your initial site. Is this what you mean? For instance, you may have a gardening website split into outdoor gardening and indoor gardening.

  • Norman Richards

Hello, there are niches that seem to be more profitable than others, these niches are call evergreen, yes I notice gardening was not mentioned, and the reason why I say that is because I have a gardening blog and while it may be a challenge to monetize I believe that working smart in the gardening niche can help you to drive traffic and to make commissions but the key is working smart. Thanks so much for sharing.

    • Yvonne Bray

Thank you, Richard; I am a bit disappointed that gardening was not in the top best niches, and I believe gardening is a continuing niche that will always bee on the internet because many people want knowledge on how to grow things, either indoors or outdoors; pests & diseases and watering. Working smart in the gardening niche will help to drive traffic and gain commission.

Once again you have provided a wealth of valuable information on succeeding in online marketing. Choosing a niche is so important for several reasons as you have clearly outlined. Thanks so much for this information as it serves as a learning tool as well as a reminder to keep up on track on our digital journey. All the very Best.

I have so many interests that it truly is hard to narrow it down to just one. Like you, Yvonne, many of my interests don’t seem to make it into the top 10. But, what I have done is taken the one niche I know I’m good at (writing) and use that as a means to boost the popularity of what I feel deserves more attention.

    Including gardening.

    • Yvonne Bray

Hi Millie, I love gardening too but it is quite a broad topic that needs to be narrowed down. Gardening is a topic that never disappears. However, for money making it’s not one of the top ten which is ashame.

I hope you find the perfect one. Thank you for leaving a comment.
